Gothel is the main antagonist. She is a scornful, callous enchantress who owned the flower garden. She made Jared and Sharon concieve a child for her in exchange for their lives. Although she is not the biological mother of Rapunzel, she raised her as her own, but did not show much care or discipline as a loving mother would. This fact is evident when throwing out Rapunzel on the streets upon hearing the latter had gone to the outside world.
